SUPPORT LOCAL HISTORY PRESERVATION WITH YOUR MEMBERSHIP
You can contribute to preserving local history and traditions for future generations in many ways at the Lake County History Center. One of the most accessible is simply to become a member. Members receive early notice of events, have free admission to the museum and free or reduced costs for events.
Member annual rates vary from $15 for students to $500 for Life Member status. For details and membership form, please return to the home page and click on the “Membership” button at the top of the page to find member rates, benefits and mail in form. Memberships can also be purchased over the phone with a credit card. Just call 440-639-2945. Every membership is important; remember History Begins with You!
Get Involved Volunteeering
The Lake County Historical Society depends on financial and in-kind donated items support, volunteer efforts, and estate gifts to maintain the historical records and tell the stories of Lake County, Ohio. Your interest and contribution in time or resources is very much needed and very welcome.
Adult volunteers are needed in a wide variety of areas from reception and library aides to educational, maintenance, and special events. Volunteering can be as limited as a single event, or assisting on a regular basis. A Volunteer Application needs to be sent to the Center with areas of interest checked. Youth Volunteers The Society welcomes youth volunteers age 15 and above for summer camp and special events. Students who need community service hours for their school requirements are also welcome and receive certificates to return to their school. Contact the Youth Education Dept. for opportunities.
Group Volunteers- The Lake County History Center is a large 8-acre site with a main museum building, .Historic Village and replicated Native American site. We also host several large community events each year. There are many opportunities for corporate or organizations to volunteer together to create a day of team bonding.
